The story was a bit weak but overall a very entertaining film. Because of it's political nature, I started of the film trying to see what message the director was trying to get through to me but it becomes obvious the message was turn off your brain and eat some popcorn. It was a little long but it didn't matter. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end! There was a lot of shocking twists and it was very well made. Caruso helmed a wonderfully suspenseful, dramatic speed-balling rollercoaster ride with "EAGLE EYE". Young star, "Shia LaBeouf", and co-star, "Michelle Monaghan" are serendipitously teamed in a seemingly haphazard frenzied "Catch Me If You Can" type of plot which steadily builds in suspense and action until the extremely unpredictable and surprising end! Far far more fun to watch than any of the professional Critics ever mentioned. Read More This is the movie for you if you haven't yet had your fill of movies about computers taking over the world when they are threatened. Terminator I did this much, much better. The computer here is almost comically derivative of Hal in 2001 Space Odyssey. But if you need more of the same, and can tolerate some major plot holes and mediocre acting, go for it. Read More I wish such a computer existed so it could disrupt the Blockbuster queue so this movie could never reach my home. This is possibly the most contrived movie I have seen in years. The director, if you can call him that, puts hysterically preposterous action above all else, repeatedly missing opportunities to intrigue the viewer with important questions by relying on the lowest common denominator of stupid car chases and explosions. The film apparently believes its audience is too stupid for subtleties, which is why it bludgeons you over the head with Orwell's message, which, btw, is better treated in 2001, the Net, Enemy of the State, War Games, and even iRobot. Unless you're a paid shill, or a LaBeouf apologist, you will groan while asking yourself "What master plan could possibly be this complex and require so many elements when the end result could be achieved so much simpler?" Read all of these great reviews and was really expecting a good movie. No chance. I'm wondering how anyone could give this movie a thumbs up. It was waaaaaay too loud, in your face, confusing, and completely UNBELIEVABLE. I mean, come on, when MM is driving that SUV like she's the second coming of Dar Robinson, give me a break!. If a movie is going to be action-packed and over the top with it's stunts, then at least it should have somewhat of a story and plot.
