There is not one normal person in the whole place which makes for tons of interesting tidbits. Just when you think you are bored someone does something that is so ungodly funny that you cant help but love it anyways. I have watched disc one and two of season founr and never followed the show before that. I would recommend it to everyone who needs a good screwball laugh or loves sarcasim. You either love The Office or you hate it.....I love it, my husband hates it! The writing is brilliant, the cast is perfect! I really like the style of how it can be so funny, and in the next scene, so terribly dark and dismal, coupled with those scenes where the subject matter is so uncomfortable it almost makes you cringe.....THAT is a perfect combination for WONDERFUL entertainment! Read More Having just finished viewing the original episodes of the British Office, I believe the American series comes out ahead in several areas. I know Ricky Gervais is a writer on the American series as well so his comic wit is present; however, thankfully the American version doesn't rely solely on sex and drinking jokes to propel each and every plot line forward. The characters also seem to have more connections between each other and Steve Carrell's annoying character has some mild endearments while Mr. Gervais' has none. I tivo the show every week and just can't wait for the next show. I rented the seasons so I could watch them all over again, I even bought them as well and enjoy watching them over and over. I never get tired of it. They are just hilarious, and the characters are so funny and each so unique and easy to relate to. I laugh just thinking about the show. It is a MUST SEE series that will leave you wanting more!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Out of 4 episides on this DVD I was only able to watch one and a half. The rest were unwatchable due to the poor quality of the DVD (no not the player, the media). I was able to watch the "deleted scenes" for each episode, however, which further validated that the media quality was at fault. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Blame it on the strike, and perhaps that is a fair assessment, but not the only culprit. NBC is a struggling network. And they needed more from their best comedy. So The office had to start it's season with 4 straight weeks of hour long episodes. Well, they didn't do anything special to make hour long episodes - they just didn't cut as much out and they turned a 30 minute idea into a 60 minute program. The quality suffered severely. The laughs were almost nonexistent, the ideas were over the top, and the characters became cartoonish and unrecognizable. They even found a way to downplay Dwight Schrute and neuter him. Dwight is their best character and they took him away. Some of the episodes after the writers strike were ok, but they never really found their footing. Here's hoping season 5 is better, this one isn't good for much other than a dust collector on your DVD shelf. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
