"The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" held my attention thoughout. The acting was superb, and the story was both interesting and emotionally gripping. The heartbreaking ending left a deafening sound in the audience. No one talked or got up to leave as soon as the credits roled by, as is usually the case. I highly recommend this movie!

This was an excellent film, in my opinion--it showed a perspective I hadn't seen in movies about Nazi Germany. This was a film showing the connection among people--German and Jew alike--and the wonderful innocence of children. The sets were beautifully planned and executed and contributed to the sense of reality of the film. Although the subject is not uplifting, the film was very well done, and I'm glad I experienced it.

I loved this movie. Many movies have been made regarding this devastating time in history but none so touching as seen through the eyes of young boys. I will buy this movie as it is a real "keeper".

This was a deeply moving story of innocence, friendship, inhumanity, and the delicate interwoven nature of all things. It IS a holocaust movie so it can't be anything but horrific in some way, still it tells an otherwise unimaginable story that tears at the heart and leaves one touched in more ways than one.

Rarely does a movie make me feel this way after watching. Not only a very good movie but it keeps you thinking long after. Very well done !! Asa Butterfield is fantastic as is everyone in this film. Vera Farmiga is one of the best actors in Hollywood today. Even though the story centers around two eight year old boys I'm not sure young kids should watch.

This was one of those movies that at the end you're just staring at the amazed at what you just saw. Very moving. It's hard to think that people actually thought that way.

Great movie, nice to see a different, human angle. Was that the British Army?? Why are these German movies I've watched lately using British accents? Good watch though...

I was hoping that this movie wouldn't dwell on the horrible attrocities of the prison camps, and focus more on the relationship between the two boys, and the relationships outside the camp, but unfortunately towards the end it was as brutal as they come. It's a story that has been told, a story that can never be forgotten, but it would be nice to watch a movie on this subject that doesn't go that far, especially with children involved.

The book is a masterpiece. It is really a short story and it took me under 2 hours to read. It is best to know nothing about it when reading it as it is simply about the innocence of a child. Of course I have not seen the movie yet, but the author has fashioned a marvelous piece of literature here.Update:I have now seen the movie. Some liberties were taken in the movie to alter the storyline, and the same innocence the author instills in the child is not as profound in the movie.Nevertheless, the movie stands on its own. The direction is excellent, especially the final scenes.
