But so very slow, to say the least. A whole minute is given to one profile close up, and numerous long, quiet close ups are scattered through out the film. You're left wondering how Ford is supposed to be so good at this job, since he gets beat down by every bad guy. Were it not for his gun and a confused stalker-turned-lover, he'd not have survived this film. The characters were weak. The tone was dark, almost oppressive. The pace just was entirely too slow to carry what could have been a very strong story -line. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Hopefully, the new dvd set being released in Dec 2007 will be the original version released in 1982. The current rental available online is not the theatrical version. Read More If you like sci-fi, or just movies, you have no choice; it's the best sci-fi film, in my opinion. Even chicks dig it 'cause of the romance, and the concepts and execution made this film one of the golden standards of all subsequent entries in the field. Watch on as big a screen as possible, ad be amazed over and over again by the care with which this baby was put together. My only BEEF is the change on the ending. I like the theatrical version ending. I believe in happy endings when possible Why did the director have to ruin this?
