Blackbeard's Ghost (1968)
Member Rating:
Blackbeard's Ghost was one of the first Disney productions released after Walt's death. Peter Ustinov stars as the eponymous wraith, who returns to Earth to come to aid of his descendant, elderly Elsa Lanchester. The villains want to kick Lanchester and her friends out of their group home so that they can build a crooked casino. Good guy Dean Jones evokes the spirit of Blackbeard to thwart the bad guys. The supporting cast ranges from Richard Deacon to Gil Lamb, while Peter Ellenshaw performs the visual effects with mattes, miniatures, and process screens. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This movie is just hilarious and it is one of my all time favorites. The actors really delivered. I laughed so hard I lost my breath. I would recommend this movie to anyone who will give a classic a chance.

This movie is just a lot of fun. The blackbeard charactor was well played by the actor. Even as an adult I still enjoy the movie. Unlike some of the disney movies (escape to witch mountain) that require a childs eye to enjoy. This movie is still appealing to watch. What a pretty lady Suzanne Pleshette was and I am sure still is.

This is a classic that still delivers! I loved it as a child and my 10 and 8 year old sons still talk and laugh about it.

This movie was great! It kept our whole family entertained and laughing. Blackbeard endears himself to you as he tries to do a good deed. If you listen carefully you can hear comedic phrases throughout this movie. Although I dont agree with drinking rum, or ghosts, this movie was very well put together.

Wonderful classic, it was as good as when I watched it years ago. It has everything rolled into one movie, laughs, action, and good family movie.

This is my favorite Disney movie, I loved it as a kid and enjoyed it just as much as an adult. It is really funny, and especially good because the great actor Peter Ustinov played the ghost Blackbeard, and the wonderful Elsa Lancaster ( the Bride of Frankenstein ) is very funny in a supporting role. In fact all the actors in this are terrific, enjoy!

Absolutely hilarious! I enjoyed it as much as an adult as I did as a child. My 12 year old daughter loved it too.

We love this movie, but were unable to watch it because of a chip in the disc. Very disappointed!!!

My kids and I loved this movie. The kids ages 10, 12 and 14 thought it was hillarious, especially the "shooting" scenes with fake guns.
