The dancing in the movie blows the first movie away. Simply put the scene that Royalty danced in at the beginning made him look lame and unskilled compared to the other dancers in this movie.

I thought it was an awlsome movie. It was exciting with all the dance moves and also had a romantic side and it ended great!

This movie was a complete bore with a capital "B". The problem this movie had was it depended too much on the general dance movie. It had all the potential in the world and reached too much for character formulation than story line. There were no new twists or better yet the movie was more for tiny-boppers with no real idea what a movie should offer. I would recommend it only for pre-teens with a little maturity based on the subject matter but feel anyone older will just as I did! BOREING!

i admit i rented this movie to laugh at and i did. you cannot take any of these movies seriously, but it actually turned out worse than i thought. the 'extras' show the director talking. he looks to be a generous age of 13. his asian parents are interviewed and they say how proud they are of him. a terrible sign. the movie was tiresome, with the typical stereotypes of sassy street girls, backstreet boy looking guys, etc. drama consisted of getting a rival 'crew' together. good for elementary and not so bright middle school students who still need to learn of movie cliches. but then again, i never saw a dance movie that i really liked. have you?

"Step Up"- the original, had a better plot than it's sequel. The dance moves on "Step Up 2" was a lot better, although the characters lack of chemistry was obvious. The beginning of the movie, was far better than the rest of the film for the cinematography featured real clips of street dance. What made the whole film? The 2 second dance cameo by the Jabba Waakies.
