I found it entertaining even though I was not familiar with any of the actors. I felt they did a decent job of getting the storyline told I also appreciate the alternative venue of the play. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes

Read MoreThe director took an interesting premise and a cast with proven acting talent and turned the whole thing into a middle school drama club production. The acting was wooden and awkward, the dialogue and characters were cliche, and the filming was downright amateur. There were scenes that appeared to be filmed by a camcorder balanced on someone's shoulder. The overall effect was a painfully bad movie I wouldn't recommend to anyone. It gave the viewer a solid, yet sometimes stereo typical view of Black male/female relationships. t's positive theme is Black men are honest, caring and hard working. Also, that brothers who get there hands dirty for a living are just as viable as lovers and husbands as the "educated" brother in the tailored suit. Also the movie ties the importance of church to the Black family. How forgiveness should be considered before divorce and that a father is a man who loves and cares for you - not necessarily the man who impregnated your mother.
Actors played their roles well and honestly. As a viewer I could relate to the subject matter and the director's vision for this film. However, I felt the wife beating/ alcholic husband portion of the film was slightly unresolved. This film is a great for a "Girl's Movie Night" with your friends. I watched it once and when my husband came home I watched it again with my husband. I guess I learned that the very appearance of evil should be avoided. I don't want my good evil spoken of. WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
