Read More This movie was better than expected, but could have been much better. With stars like Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher, you would think that the script would be a little better. The funniest parts of the movie were given away in the previews I had already seen. Cameron Diaz looked incredible though. Read More This movie was just ok but what I REALLY liked about it was that it's the first comedy I've seen in ages that wasn't gross and disgusting. I have pretty much given up on comedies because the current formula for making funny movies seems to be disgusting comments, foul language and a lot of behaviors that are not spectator sports and belong behind bathroom doors....NOT very entertaining. Ashton Kutcher delivered yet another one of his boilerplate comedic performances, although it appears that as a dramatic actor his skills have improved. I liked this film because it was fun to watch and had a lot of crazy character interactions. This movie was very well-cast for the unique script. Dennis Miller playing the judge seemed to me like a funny metaphor. Although this movie is a gem and filled with memorable lines the reasons why it didn't get a "5": (to me) Ashton Kutcher isn't a very funny man and whenever I think of Cameron Diaz's best comedic performance I always think of "There's Something About Mary" or "The Sweetest Thing." This wasn't quite there. It might also be the unreal story that makes it somewhat "un-iconic." It resembles "Maid in Manhattan."WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
