Read More I have an 11, 13, and 14 year old and we all loved this film. It's supposed to be an adventure and it wasn't too slow for us, we knew it was part of the plot. Read More I was expecting a boring chick flick but infact it was very entertaining. It was somewhat far fetched especially with the animals knowing what the humans where saying and the pelican come on. But over all it was still great. I would recommend it for everyone.
The writers adventure should have been more challenging then what they had after all she was a loony and never left here apartment and for her to do what she did without a major panic attack was somewhat dumb. I thought it was going to turn into a island version of Home Alone attacking the bad guys and that would have been more interesting then attacking the vacationers... There's not much to be thrilled about for adults. I expected there would be, so I was left disappointed in the way the story went. The animal acts were often fake and unoriginal, and the acting was just alright, but seemed either overdone, or fake somehow. Obviously they were acting for a younger crowd, but still. The characters didn't move me enough to care about the emotional scenes either. Many parts of the story also just seemed random and unnecessary, I have to admit.
