Read More I have not seen the original Thai movie, so I can't compare the two; I can only rate it as a movie on its own. I thought it was only ok overall as I was watching it. Not great, but not bad. But then the ending was so ridiculous that I laughed out loud. When the main character (Ben) finally confronted the spirit in the end it was like a joke to me. Read More If you're going to remake another outstanding Asian horror movie, then please do it well!!! First mistake they made was probably to hire director Masayuki Ochiai to do this remake, hollywood should've hired Gore Verbinski who directed another Asian horror sensation "The Ring" or the original Thai guys who came up with the original Shutter movie (on dvd now). I really thought the original was far better than this remake. Masayuki Ochiai who did "infection" did a very poor job remaking this one, the editing is horrible, and the psychological scary scenes that made Shutter an international sensation were nowhere to be found in this boring piece of doodoo!!! Masayuki Ochiai, a Japanese director massacred this Thai horror classic. Horror fans deserve far better than just some cheap knockoff of the true original horror films that we came to enjoy so much. Jackson & Taylor weren't that good in this. BORING!!!! Rent the original, it'll scare the heck out of you!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More This movie was wack, don't go see it in theaters, and when it comes out on dvd don't rent it. It was like a mix of The Grudge and The Ring; like The Grudge, it had azns and like The Ring, it had your typical creepy girl with long black hair. The Ring, Eye, Pulse, and now Shutter. The Thai version of the Shutter was so much better than the US one because they don't use cheesy special effects. If you want to watch this movie and be entertained rent the original version, I guarantee you it will be much scarier than this pathetic remake.
