The story in and of itself is wonderful. To see his situation from his eye view (literally!)is tremendous. But the nudity alone should have given it an R rating, and it's not a totally feel-good movie about a guy who overcame his medical condition; he was a jerk before, he was pretty much a jerk during, and it seemed like he didn't learn much about himself before he died either. Although he coined some very wonderful writings about his journey, he was not exactly a role model and at the end of the movie you feel a bit empty yourself

This film is really beautiful, and I loved it. If you're ever feeling sorry for yourself, watch this movie. You will quickly realize how fortunate you are.

Enjoyed film very much. Celine character in particular. Those of you that do not speak French may change the language to English in the set-up section of the menu.

I also thought the first part was slow and hard to watch, but this is worth hanging in for! Very inspirational and "feel-good." Hang in there as it gets better after the first hour!

This is a great movie even if they do take literary license with his love life. The way it was shot was spectacular. The effect would have been very different had they chose to film from a different point of view. My 12 year old son even sat down at the beginning and stayed through the whole thing which was very surprising because of the subtitles which I love but most 12 year old boys don't. Good story that translated well on screen.

Dramatic, emotion-filled, and motivational film about a stroke victim who overcomes incredible odds to tell his story. It had overtones of a wonderful book called Johnny Got His Gun, about a victim of the Civil War who is aware of things going on around him, but who cannot communicate his feelings to anyone (but the reader). I loved this movie. However, it is not for everyone. If you adore Larry the Cable Guy, don't rent it.
