The movie lacked depth in a big way. The acting was good but the profundity of the moment fell way short. It was like they skimmed over things and even the debates themselves were not fleshed out enough. I never felt like rooting for much of anyone. It was like reading poorly written newspaper articles about the issue that leaves you with a million questions. It had the potential to be a great movie but never arrived. Watch it but don't expect much because then you will be really disappointed.

this is an excellent movie. if was first skeptical whether to watch i didnt want to see another movie deplicting slavery and the wrongs of african americans although there were scenes regarding the wrongs of african american people in that time the movie focused on the rights of african americans and the prosperity of african americans.

Its a very emotional movie & will touch those of us who lived in that generation..this true story took place in Texas which wasn't even considered "The Deep South" so one can just imagine...It sickens my heart...Racium will never go away no matter how hard we try so why NOT try to understand generations way before ours...I am ashamed to read some of these reviews which only come out of ignorance...
