Even the young character, especially the female debater handled their roles with class and dignity. The movie inspires others to strive above adversity and succeed. The special Feature on the real debaters was just a great. To those who think this movie is racism, they need to take off the rose-colored glasses and get a dose of this country's terrible history. Denzel is a great actor and a masterful director..this film
has it all..terrific characters including of course Denzel, Forest Whitaker and Denzel Whitaker, a real find..also a very fine actor Nate Parker and Jurnee Smollett, the debaters..the story is true and makes
one feel great to be an American in those days. a must see!!

If u needed to hire an employee and u turned away the most qualified and mature individual simply because he/she was black or hispanic who's the fool? Some very rough scenes in this film but truthful and it's just horrible how we've treated "citizens" of our country. AND some of those "citizens" fought and died in our wars.
