The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) Reviews

I am not a fan of romances. I am a science fiction fan. I have read the book. I think you will understand, appreciate and enjoy the movie even if you haven't read the book. Anyone who liked the book will like the movie. Maybe die-hard fans of the book may have some issues. There were a few things they changed for no apparent reason. Because of time constraints, some things seemed rushed and they had to leave some stuff out. However, the movie does stay true to the most fundamental aspects of the book. The story is charming and warm. The acting is wonderful. Casting is terrific. I wish there was more stuff with little Henry and little Claire. There was more of Alba than I expected which helped make the movie so enjoyable. Oh, and don't forget to have some tissues handy.

Freaking awesome movie! Best romance flick i've seen in a while! I saw it with my best friends, but i think a guy would like the movie also. couldn't get my boyfriend to go with me, but i'm still going to try! such a great story line. somewhat confusing. you gotta really pay attention to what all is going on!

This movie is the best that I have seen in a long time. I would buy this movie and watch it over and over again. This movie is awesome it is romantic, suspenseful, a tear jerker, and just plainly a great movie.

I had such high hopes for this movie, there are so many wholes I don't know if the plot was too weak or they left a lot of the movie on the cutting room floor. The over all feel of the movie was a downer, not many "feel good" moments. Plot ideas were introduced but were never seen or heard from again. I love Rachel McAdams, but this isn't her best movie.

I saw this at the theater. The title is self-explanatory; it’s a romance with a little sci-fi twist. I found myself captivated by the interesting storyline and the complexities that were presented regarding the relationship and time travel. (Which he has no control over.) The time travel and romance elements kept me entertained until about half way through, then I started to get bored and I didn't understand where the movie was going. About ten minutes later some controversy was presented and we finally saw some direction to the movie. I won't spoil anything.., I'll just say that I would have rewritten the ending.., it left me feeling a little blank and disappointed. The acting is decent, the storyline is good. (It keeps your interest for the most part). The direction is OK but it could have been better. I know this was from a book, but I think that in this film format the ending leaves a little to be desired. Best part of the movie: the acting and the story.
