Elegy is a wise old prose of a poem for those of us that have lived enough life to appreciate this. About those things that cannot be taught by anyone; and only by having lived enough life. Ben Kingsley delivers a perfection of a performance of a man who is coming to terms with both his life in the past and his life where it is now. Amazing supporting roles by Dennis Hopper & Patricia Clarkson and by his leading lady Penelope Cruz. Isabel Coixet directs this film with the eye of a truly fine artist. I'd recommend to anyone over the age of 50 to fully appreciate. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Ben Kingley's role came off as crude in that all he was focusing on was his ability to get the sexual interest of a much younger woman. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Somewhat slowly developing story about selfish but not unlikeable characters. Penelope's lovely breasts are central to the story and you get an extended view multiple times. Naked Maja, not at all pornographic and not even excessively salacious. Dennis Hopper shines. Love finally overcomes selfishness at least until the end credits, after that, who knows? Boy was I suprised. There is no chemistry at all with these to "lovers" and the ending was not what I expected. But then again, neither was the poor script. Oh, well, I seem to differ from some of the other reviews, but please.....could you really get hung up on Ben Kingsley. The part was simply miscast. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? The conversations between Ben & Dennis are very unique. The film also show love, lust, deception, and the pain from it all. After watching the film I found myself thinking what or how I can learn from the film. Which is why its an amazing movie. As for penelope - She has the most beautiful breast on the planet. Guys will not be disappointed, she carries it well. Highly Recommended. (I also noticed that I have a lot of negative reviews of my review. This is because blockbuster was very slow in getting this film., and I could not delete my review. Here's what I stated before. --- Previous- Why isn't this title available? I will review then. Blockbuster please step it up! This is one way Netflix has the edge.) Refer to the 9th 12th & 13th pages of my reviews as of 4/05/09....see for yourself. They are very slow in applying the new films.
