From the creative team behind the Oscar-winning adaptation of Chicago comes a lavish feature take on the Tony award-winning musical inspired by Federico Fellini's whimsical classic 8 1/2. Directed by Rob Marshall, Nine details the effort made by world-class filmmaker Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) in realizing his latest cinematic vision while simultaneously balancing his relationships with the many passionate and influential women in his life, including his mistress, Carla (Penélope Cruz), and wife, Luisa (Marion Cotillard). Original lyricist and composer Maury Yeston serves as co-executive producer for the filmed version of his own 1982 Broadway hit. Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren, Fergie, and Judi Dench co-star in the Weinstein Co. production. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Understand why this film did not stay in theater long - movie was not good. We wanted to see it because of all the name stars - what a waste of their talent.

Saw the live play a couple of years ago and loved it, however, found the movie boring as for plot and actually didn't watch it to the end.

Not even good looking babes could save this turkey.

A director with such a terrific cast, in this reasonably acceptable if familiar plotline should have been able to save this movie. Not so. Few of the characters are compelling and the music is completely foregetable. Don't bother.

What a waste! Such a star studded cast, at least as far as females go, to have their commendable efforts consumed in this mish mash storyline. I wish I hadn't bothered.

Not too sure maybe 3 stars, but it lacked a good story line, weird dialogue and too slow. There was one beautiful song in the movie . A good movie if you are in the business of entertaining - great choreography - awesome !!

I THOUGHT IT WAS TERRIBLE. IT WAS REMINISCENT OF "ALL THAT JAZZ" BOB FOSSE MOVIE, BUT AT LEAST THE CHARACTERS WERE INTERESTING AND THERE WAS MUSIC. IN "NINE"..I WENT FORWARD SO MANY TIMES TO GET A MUSICAL SEGMENT THAT I WENT TO THE END OF THE MOVIE AND THAT WAS THAT.

Stunning visuals and photography. The perferformances are great. The problem is that the musical is terrible and the songs are not worth listening to. There is no plot.
