As a fan of Katherine Heigl, I expected more. Her acting was the high caliber we expect from her but the plot was just too one-dimensional. This is not a movie I would pay to view. Just wait for its release on one of the subscription cable channels and form your own opinion.

I really enjoyed this movie. Katherine Heigl's character is so cute and really shows someone that you can relate to. A great light-hearted comedy to watch. You should definitely catch this one!

In praise of Katherine Heigl versatility, when I watched this movie I did not see Izzy from Grays Anatomy but rather I saw an unbelievable, badly acted, overqualified executive assistant to Ed Burns. Moreover an executive assistant that lives a Carrie Bradshaw type existence. I know this is a ROCOs but can’t Hollywood provide some economic believability? The story moves slowly or at a normal pace but feels very slow b/c it is so predictable. Ed Burnes and James Marsden did not even phone this one in but rather sent a text message. Judy Greer (the girl getting railed by George Clooney in Three Kings) was cast as a booze soaked girlfriend, Judy played the part exquisitely; expect good things from her in the future. 27 Dresses also has a future as a doubled up DVD sold at the K-Mart discount rack for $12.99. These can be great movies to pass the time with but not ones we keep in the DVD display case that friends see when they come over to play boggle.

I watched this by myself for one reason. I truly think Katherine Heigl is not only one of the most beautiful actors in holiday today but a truly talented one as well. Each of her characters are unique and quirky and they endear you to her. This movie is no different other than the fact that you have a great ensemble of quirky characters to keep you entertained. The movie will click with women the most but I think men will identify with it as well because of the great male characters in the movie. James Marsden does a fantastic job of portraying a man with a cynical outlook on marriage and the institution behind it. All in all it's a good movie and I think men will enjoy it as well as women. I base this assumption on the fact that the characters aren't so mushy you want to stir in some sleeping pills into your ice cream to make it through the film.
