Ruffian (2006) Reviews

"Ruffian" is a wonderful movie. I have watched many "horse" movies, but this one surpasses them all. This movie is both entertaining and heartbreaking. The special effects of the injury in the match race was exceptional. It showed just how horrific her injury was. It was really hard to watch this part. I clearly recall watching the match race on TV and how sad it made me feel when she had to be put down. The injury to Barbaro in the Preakness brought back all of these old feelings. Sadly, Ruffian's injury was far more devestating that Barbaro's. It makes me wonder to what heights she may have attained had the break not occurred. . The special features were very interesting. I particularly liked the video clips of her actual races, and the ESPN features. I highly recommend "Ruffian" to any horse lover or anyone who wants to see a really great true story. I fully intend to add "Ruffian" to my DVD library.

A fact-based movie about the greatest thoroughbred filly of all time Ruffian,who won 10 races in a row shattering every recond than in 1975 in Belmont Park when she was racing against Foolish Pride something went tragedy wrong, everyone was shocked. A must see movie if you love horses or even if you don't love horses, it's a great movie, that you should see.
