The movie gets a bit boring, though some of the clips used of heckler situations are interesting. Ultimately it becomes a bunch of whining about critics, which actually just sort of reverses the roles as they trash what critics have to say. The guy from Chud, the critic, was actually the most well spoken person in the flick. Jamie Kennedy wants to entertain and so do critics that bash him; get over it.

Funny and insightful discussions with performers and critics about the right to criticize the work of others, and the responsibilities of those who do so. Are critics trying to be celebrities themselves by how cruel they can be in their reviews? Does the heckler in the audience think he/she can do the job that the performer onstage is doing? Very good movie, highly recommended.

The first 20 minutes of this movie were exactly what you want... great clips of comics getting heckled interspliced with interviews relating anecdotes. It's wonderful. You should turn off the movie there. Because this movie, which would have made an interesting short, begins to expand, and expand, and expand it's focus just to get the required 90 minutes in. It goes from focusing on hecklers to the loosly related 'critics', then to analysis of critics, and further, and further, till the original humor of the movie is completely lost. The first 20 minutes are great, but as soon as you start getting bored with the psychoanlysis of critics and rap music and other tangents, turn it off. It doesn't get magically better at the end again.

I don't want to be a critic about a movie that essentially hates critics. It was good. Good interviews and insight. I think the movies message is it's okay to hate a movie or a stand up routine, but to be malicious and hurtfull about it is where the criticism needs to end. Critics are lame anyway. They use their ivy league education to throw huge words into a review about a comedy. Most of the time critics are looking for a creative way to play with a movies title. Like "Tropic Thunder" was a "Tropic Blunder." Haha, aren't I creative, I went to Harvard! Anyway, it's a good documentary.

So Jamie Kennedy wants to flip the script and get some revenge on critics. He attacks newspaper columnists and movie reviewers, but this movie really boils down to attacking the internet. The internet has created an entire planet of critics. Here's the problem, Jaimie Kennedy comes off as a big baby and this movie will not silence his critics, in fact I suspect it will only make the negativity toward him worse. The movie features an incredible amount of cameo appearances from people with rational insights. There are also a few cameos from stars that clearly feel the same way, and they are very thin skinned. They come off as cry babies too. The whole thing gets a little old after a while and Jaimie fails in his attempt to enlighten the viewer to his point. He really only makes matters worse for himself.

ironic to write a review on this, but oh well. good with so many interviews. in the end, though, i do realize that everyone is under scrutiny. overall, i do see the conflict, but when you are making millions, can't people be up to a bit of bashing? maybe i don't understand. i love jamie, by the way. really funny and i found the documentary humorous.

Really wasn't sure if most of this was staged by JK or not, but it was a interesting to see the dynamic between critics and comics/celebrities. I think JK is funny, but the critics were right--The Son of the Mask was pretty bad. Probably the best part of the movie was the clips of comics going ballistic on the hecklers. The majority of the critics were snide, holier than thou dorks who finally got exposed for what they are. I also really liked the filmmaker knocking out those critics in the boxing ring--it was brutal!

The movie was ok. You have to be a nut to heckle a professional comedian. I was in Vegas recently where someone began to heckle a show I went to...they were sitting right behind me....ruined it for me and many other people sitting next to me... The movie is worth a watch to see how the comedians handle the hecklers. I thought carrot top was the most hurt by it all....he seems very sensitive to any critics opinion of not liking his show....I never cared for the guys act, but I might see his show. As he says in the movie....give him a chance to change your mind. Might be a good show anyway, the guy is bizarre to look at.
