Read More An all-star cast delivers this rendition of the attempt to overthrow Hitler during the final days of the Third Reich. The acting is good, but the script was not too compelling. Tom Cruise doesn't deliver the way his has done in other films. So, the protagonist never quite wins you over to his cause. Nevertheless, it's a good story to see. Not all German's were ideologues. I think the film added to the already known story. Overall Tom Cruise does a good job in his lead role and it was nice to see so many well known British actors playing parts. Read More Yes this movie was pushed on the public, but what Tom Cruise movie isn't! However, once I actually sat down to watch the movie I felt much of it was deserved, and not just because Mr.Cruise was invovled. All the actors earned their checks, and the visuals were top notch. This movie took actual events and made them watchable...Get the movie and enjoy....ByPass those reviews that wanted this to be Terminator Pt.4.5 Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? I did not see this movie in the theater so I could put the subtitles ... Read More As in most biographies the story is slow and boring. I found myself falling asleep and had to get a sugar high to stay awake. I did not see this movie in the theater so I could put the subtitles on. I knew there would be German words that I wouldn't understand but would be confused that they were English words I just didn't hear right. I don't think the writer showed how much the Tom Cruise character was angered over losing his eye, hand and fingers. To me it looked like he was just going along with the others in the assasination plot. Also without any of these characters having any kind of an accent I kept thinking they were American soldiers. I had a hard time keeping the thought that they were Germans. I am not sorry I watched this movie as I learned some history from it and hope that liberties were not taken to make the story more interesting. I am so glad the family did not get killed. Read More I recieved Valkyrie in the mail excited to watch the movie I took care of my daily tasks so I could sit down and enjoy a movie made some snacks sat down ready to relax and the movie dosent work checked my connections so I try another movie to see if everything is in order the other movie plays fine OK sh-- happens I'll just go to blockbuster and exchange it for a working copy WRONG the store said I have to contact online services so instead of relaxation I got frustration.
