The Special Features were a nice bonus, especially the interview with the actual printer. Would highly recommend to those who enjoy historical drama or foreign film in general. Shame to those members who gave a bad rating to this movie because they didn't understand it was sub-titled. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More My husband & I weren't excited about reading subtitles, but that proved inconsequential to this engrossing, dramatic tale. Based on a true story, this film sheds light on a WWII event that is very likely unfamilar to most. It is also a tale of human survival. The only disappointment was the ending, a bit sudden and abrupt. Even so, the performances were stellar. I can see why it won the Oscar for best foreign film. If you can open your mind to subtitles and enjoy this genre, you'll enjoy this. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More We watched this with our two sons, 16&18, and everyone found it to be a memorable film. It spawned a discussion about whether or not the "counterfeiters" should have tried to do more for the prisoners on the outside. We also talked about decisions people make when their life is at stake. And we had all had different takes on why he gambled away so much money at the end. A winner and the subtitles were not hard to read at all. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

This was on our list for a while and had a chance to view it. Great movie and nice to see a WWII movie not solely about persecutions or the gloom. Nice story and well acted. Didn't know what it was subtitled though. Definite a must for WWII fans. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Ok, so i saw the movie last night and i swear i just found out the whole movie was in another language... i thought my hubby added the captions for easy understanding because they were talking fast... so i read them and loved the movie. Also if you are giving this a bad rating because it was foreign and had subtitles it must be that you don't know how to read. Nothing hard about it because you get used to it fast. Read More They didn't get into how bad these Jews were and how far they went in almost helping Hitler rule the world. In the film-the Jews only printed up some one dollars before they took over the camp but in real life-they printed up tons of U.S. dollar bills and the Nazi had spread this all over-so the film down played the Jewish involvement.
I mean they just pulled up million sof dollars in Austria like 5 years ago-and we dont see the huge number of Jews making this money but instead it is narrowed to one jew making 1 dollar. It was laughable. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
