It's hard for me to tell if I enjoyed this movie. It's hard for me to tell if the director even wanted the viewer to enjoy it. If you don't like artistic and bizarre films you will hate this one. For the most part my reaction to this movie is WTF? Maybe I just don't get it? I must say I liked the first of the three short films, and I really got into the second one but then it just left me hanging, asking myself once again, WTF? Same with the third. Good luck on this one.

The 3 short stories that make up this film are all a bit off-the-wall. The first one "Interior Design" is kind of quirky, but I found it captivating and a bit charming. It's about a unmarried couple who stay with a female friend in Tokyo while they look for an apartment and jobs. But the guy does a number of his girlfriend's self-esteem and the results at the end are weird and amazing. The second story, "Merde" is creepy, violent, disgusting, and beyond weird, about a deranged man who lives in the sewer and comes above to harass and subsequently harm innocent people on the streets. I should have just fast-forwarded over the entire thing. The third story is moderately interesting, about what I assume is an agoraphobic who finds an opportunity to break free of his self-imposed prison and possibly save another from the same fate. So, two out of three isn't bad. I'm not sorry I rented it.

If you like Michel Gondry, you'll definitely love this one. The second short film kinda sucked, but the first (Gondry) and the last (Bong) short films are real gems. These shorts (except the second one), are a helluva lot better than all the usual convoluted mainstream garbage that seems to be the norm these days. So if you like quirky movies, this is for you. If you're a robot, you'll never truly understand the beauty of life :P

Awful. Don't waste your time. The first segment by Gondry is passable, but only by a nose. The second two segments had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, basically taking small ideas and repeating them ad nauseum. I had to turn off the DVD before the final piece ended. It was like pulling a splinter out of my finger. Whoever financed this project must have a lot of money to waste.
