I watched it in L.A. when I was visiting and it seems like everyone in the audience liked it too bc we all claped at the end. It was very fun, funny and interesting movie. The plot was very different from any other movie i've seen before. I loved the character played by Penelope Cruz. It was very realistic of how latin females are. Read More My wife rented this one based on the trailers. When all was said and done, we had to ask 'How did they piece something together from that swine droll to make a decent trailer?'. Folks, this has to be one of the most dreary, insipid movies ever made. There was not a SINGLE (and capailization doesn't do it justice) redeeming quality to ANY character in this movie. 'So What', you may say? Well, for me, I would rather spend two hours bashing my hands to a pulp with a hammer than be subjected to seeing this movie again. Where are the Razzies when you need them? Read More I enjoyed watching the actors portray the characters, and the photography was beautifully done. The story was enough outside of my experience that it was interesting, but there were a few incidents that were a little hard to accept as realistic, but not far out enough to comprimise the whole story. Knowing that Woody Allen wrote and directed it made it even more entertaining and interestng. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I think this is only the second of his films I've been able to watch all the way through. Barcelona, Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz made it worthwhile, but only just. Scarlett Johansson was also good in a couple places. The thing is all of them were at various times playing a version of Woody Allen: snivelling, whining, insecure, needy, neurotic...annoying. You just want to bloody these navel-gazing twits up a little. Javier's character has the fewest "Woody" moments, which is probably why he was so attractive in comparison. Rebecca Hall played Woody Allen throughout. But even Javier had to serve up some glaringly stupid dialogue about how his poet father refuses to write his poetry down â in order to punish the world for not having learned to love. I will never learn to love weak B.S. like this. Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Barcelona on the other hand... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
