Read MoreThis is the classic old story of an ignored child with imaginary friends whose parent finally realizes they're a workaholic and makes the grand departure from that lifestyle back to parenthood. Seen it! Over and over actually. If you're an Eddie Murphy fan or one of the many small children that have never seen this story a million times (afterall it was made for those kids, not ME) then you may really like it but it's doubtful to be anyones all time favorite or even "best this year". Great job of teaching the world what fatherhood really means. It was refreshing to see Afro American males in such positive roles.
Yara Shahidi is an excellent actress. Her facial expressions make me believe her. Her stares are like that of a grown-up. She plays the character of a unique child who seems wise beyond years, while preserving her innocence.

that's not saying much since he hasn't made any decent movie in years. This one was a formula movie from beginning to end, and the premise of the "magical" towel was a poor executed one and boring since you could not actually see anything happening when it was used. Eddie is likeable, daughter is lovable and ex-wife is gorgeous and sweet. The entire cast is really good! It's worth a rent and stands up aginst most garbage out there these days.
