Read More Just so people know, this is the BBC version of Planet Earth. It seems like it is the same footage and script, but it is David Attelborough(not sure of the spelling) narrating and not Sigourney Weaver. If you are like me and want the version we saw on the Discovery Channel, i guess you have to buy it. Still by far the most amazing nature series ever filmed. The footage is breathtaking! I watched with my husband, and 8 and 4 year old children, all of whom were completely enthralled and entertained. It is a wonderful and educational experience. The pictures are amazing, and I truly have never seen anything like it. The way the living things are captured in their natural and undisturbed state is incredible. This series is very unique and surprisingly compassionate. Each DVD of the series has its own special way of showing us the earth in a way I have never seen before. Read More The splendor of the earth's land and water and the creatures that inhabit it are the central focus of Planet Earth. It's hard not to be amazed and moved by some of the sequences in the series! In the end, it's apparent how much everyone on earth needs to be more environmentally friendly to save our home. When I got it to my house I noticed a scratches on the outer cover of the disk for disk 2 (on ... Read More I have waited a very long time to get this collection. When I saw it finally shipped I was so happy. When I got it to my house I noticed a scratches on the outer cover of the disk for disk 2 (on the artwork). I wasnt that upset, but wasnt happy. I instead starting watching disk 1. All was going great until it started skipping and freezing. Then I was upset. I jumped on the reviews and noticed someone else having the same problem, and seeing the same scratches. I am not talking about a small scratch that will still let the disk play, disk 2 wouldnt even load. If wouldnt play on my player or my cpu with blu-ray. Shame on BB for not replacing it. hmmm...are they looking for a sucker to not report the problem so they can blame a person that didnt do this? I will admit, the small part I was able to see on disk 1 made me want to see the whole thing. And yes...now I am mad :( Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

And as much respect I have for Planet Earth, I am disappointed at Blockbuster for buying the version that might not work with all blu-ray players?
