This movie was disappointing. I have a 14 year old son and an 11 year old daughter, and they both mocked me for renting this movie. Jason Lee seemed uncomfortable throughout the movie, the script was beyond predictable - nothing at all imaginative or appealing in this movie.

This movie was a cute family movie. There were laughs for both adults and children. Jason Lee was a good choice for Dave playing the character to a T. The only big thing I was dissapointed with with the lack of the story, yes it had a very good plot but many parts of it seemed to just be jumbled together with no real explanation.

Had the novelty of singing chipmunks been the driving force of the film, it would have been worth watching. But, after Jason Lee accepts that 3 chipmunks are talking to him, the whole world seems just fine with it unchallenged. A CGI mistake. My kids grew bored after a few minutes.
