I'm a christopher reeves fan, so the movie was okay, but not nearly as good as the first two. A bad decision to mix silly into the movie. On the other hand, my kids disagree with me and like it as much as Superman II. My two teenagers (13 and 14) said that they liked the first Superman movie, the best of all 4 and better than Superman Returns 2006.

This was quite a bit different than the first two. It had a light, humorous tone and not a very in depth plot.

Superman 3 had the potential to be a great Superman picture. If the company had taken just a little more effort and budget, this could have been the greatest. You can actually look at this picture and see where you could put in real villains from the Superman mythos. Ross Webster could have been instead John Corbin and become Metallo. Or perhaps the "ultimate computer" could have been Brainiac. And most of all, instead of an "evil" Superman, the fight in the junkyard could easily had been Bizarro. Along with the 80's beeing the 80's and Warner Bros. looking to quickly cash in on another sequel and the unfortunate casting of Richard Pryor, it could've been great. Superman 3 is not entirely a dissappointment for fans of either Superman or Christopher Reeve. It's pretty much good if you have not much else to watch.

This is the worst Superman that was made. They tried to make it into a comedy because Richard Pryor was in it. But they didn't do a very good job. Plus the super computer. Come on, really? And then it changed the woman into a machine. Whatever. It was ridiculous. If you want to watch them all, then you can. But you aren't missing any of the story if you don't watch this one.

After immensely enjoying the first two movies, watching this was a huge letdown. The storyline was just plain dumb and unbelievable, Lois was in it for maybe five minutes while Clark runs around with a hometown girl, "Evil" Superman was annoying as was the battle between "Good" and "Evil" Supermans, the humor failed, the effects were off, the continuity of the films ruined, and may I just say that one character was far too racy for a "family" film. All in all a waste of time; stick to the first two.
