Of those translated to the screen, some...like Man of La Mancha and Camelot...have fallen flat. This took a dive off a Greek cliff! The plot goes nowhere because it is hamstrung to songs that do not have enough variety. Non-singing Hollywood actors singing also don't help. The great Christine Baranski does her best to bail a sinking ship. Retrofitting a plot to a collection of songs is a dumb idea, and this is the proof. Worst movie musical ever. Read More It was a sad sign when even my 13 year old daughter thought this movie was terrible. Sometimes, a movie just should not be made, and this was one of those times.Meryl Streep, for all her fine acting abilities, can't handle the lead in a musical, and poor Pierce Brosnan---has his career come to this? My ears still ache... Perhaps the only positives from this movie were the lovely scenary... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Interesting use of ABBA favorites in this modern musical set on a Greek island surrounding the story of a young bride-to-be searching for her father amongst three men er...acquainted closely..with her hippie-mother (Merle Streep) years before. The bride invites all three prospective Dads to find out who'll walk her down the aisle, without telling her mother, setting the tide for surprises, laughter, and a little introspection now & then. Interesting singing/dancing performances by Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep make this film worth a viewing even if it borders on extremes --- as most musicals do. Irregardless of the plots strength or weakness, the music is a terrific trip down memory lane. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Low level video never appropriate to great Abba... when they sing Mamma mia in this movie I see a lot of pus*y touching, will Abba do that?, like she is referring to sex and orgasm, you can notice it! why do movie producers think that we are sex animals?
The idea behind the movie is sex, orgasm and lust... such a shame! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
