Chow does it again a light film but wonderful with some of his signature comic elements and wackiness, The Kids a great actor and watch the extras too they reveal something about the great kid actor that caught me off guard. Also CJ7 is a cool little critter a fun film has some sad parts too. A really fun film just toned down from the other films he has been doing past few years. Watch out for some great Chinese regulars from Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle also. Great Movie (Allen F.)

This movie is very cute and funny, the special affect was pretty good too. The best part I like about this movie is that it teaches young children about moral values. I

I watched this movie with my 5yo son and we laughed a lot, my son wanted to watch the movie again right after we watched it the first time. The special effects are ok, some people complain about that but I didn't rent this one expecting the effects to be great. Some people also complain about child abuse, but this movie comes from a different culture and it is a movie, I mean there is an alien right? you don't believe everything you see in the movie right? there is a reason its rating is PG. BTW. The main character as far as I know is a boy, 2 reviews said it was a girl. It has some sad moments but it always makes you feel that things are going to be fine. I rated it based on how much my son and I enjoyed it.

I am completely confused by all the good reviews. I grew up watching R rated movies and am not one to balk at much, but I found this movie disturbing and would never show it to my children, even though it's rated PG. The little boy treated the alien/toy like it was a piece of trash just because he dreamt the alien/toy could do more than it actually was capable of. That justifies beating the living crap out of it - abusing it on all levels? Is it okay for a kid to do that to a puppy if the child dreams the puppy is "super-powered"? I feel this sends across a very negative message to children. The alien suffered repeat beatings and punishment. It was just unnerving and unsettling to watch and I am a 26 year old woman. My boyfriend felt the same. We thought we were in for a fun movie, prepared for it to be cheesy, but we were not prepared for THIS. If you want to watch a cute loving trusting little creature get treated like utter trash, then rent this.

I think this was probably the worst movie I've ever seen. The kid was soooo mean to the poor little alien puppy and he hurt it so many times, even though it was trying so hard to help! And the kid was a total brat. The english dubbing was pretty lame too. I think this is a bad example for kids. It might make them think it's okay to hurt innocent animals and beg for things they know they can't have.
