But what's really interesting about this movie is how the filmmaker managed to create a hero and a villain from a completely meaningless and stupid topic and make you actually care about their fates. Character revelation is the key. The fact that the movie makers did not know what they were going to discover when they started out enhances the experience. Well filmed, well edited, even the music was on the money! Fun extras, too. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Seth Gordon has made this into an interesting story, which is a testament to his ability as a filmmaker. You'll find yourself rooting for Steve Wiebe.
I wasn't sure that my wife was going to like this film but she did. That's saying something. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I like videos games, I would hardly call myself a gamer though. But as a kid I was far more into video games and thought King of Kong might be a nostalgic, albeit bad, trip down memory lane. Boy, was I off base with this one. This move was far less about video games as it was about human drama. I know the title is off putting for non-gamers, but honestly what else could they have named this title? It's so true to the film. Once I got my girlfriend to watch it she really enjoyed it, although it was tough to get her to sit down for a movie named King of Kong.
I think everyone can relate on some level with the focus of this film, Steve. You can't help but cheer for him win he wins and hurt with him when he loses. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is the best movie I have ever seen that left me feeling dirty at the end. Trust me - when you watch some of the souls that dedicate their lives to this "sport," you might want a shower afterward. Nevertheless, this movie had the best characters (ahem, real people), the best plot (ahem, real again), the best laughs (it's ALL REAL), and all of it is done with an excellent sense of direction. The best part is, the saga is still unfolding. Heck, with the DVD, we get an update of where the rivalry has gone since the movie was filmed. Seriously, I have only had this much fun with a movie a handful of times, if that. See this one TONIGHT. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I just kept waiting for something to make me laugh or at least smile, but it never happened. Don't waste your time, it's not worth it. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL?
