This movie is funnier then all the Martin Lawrence and Adam Sandler movies put together. A joy from begininning to end. Impecably edited and just pure fun. A must see and I don't know how it was passed over for an Oscar, if you ask me it was ten times better then the movies that won the last two years.

Billy Mitchell is a sissy. I remember all of the craziness back then. But I never thought his arrogant ass would duck this guy. Plus the tape he sent in was rigged.

Without a doubt one of the best movies I've seen recently. This movie captivates the very essense of some aspects of human nature. Billy is obviously someone who can't take a fall and the more he tries, the harder he fell at the end. As for Steven, I dun find alot of those "real" people around me, and knowing someone like that still exists gives me a bit of hope for this society. We should all be the quiet ones whose ultimate goal is to surpass ourselves. P.S. Billy is a P*SSY, Twin Galaxies should be burnt down in a hellish blaze. ^.^ Hay guys. I just logged onto Twin Galaxies again, it said that Bily got 1st play again with a score of 1.05million points in FL. Let me guess, he probably sent in the tape again?

You couldn't make these people or this story up. Surprisingly hilarious and very entertaining. It ended as a feel good story but the events leading there left me thinking, "wow, are these people for real?" I recomend this to anyone who can appreciate humor found in the social interactions humans make.

My husband described it perfectly by stating that this movie is like Spinal Tap EXCEPT that they are not actors but real people. You can't make a better parody of people like this if you tried ! This movie has all of the classic components for a showdown....the "slick" but arrogant champion and the talented newcomer who must overcome some tough obstacles but triumphs at the end ! This is a "Must-See" not just for the storyline but the colorful bunch of REAL characters like "Mr. Awesome" - you can't come up with this stuff !

A juicy rivalry! This film is very engaging. It all boils down to a real life competition for the highest score in the arcade game, Donkey Kong. One guy has pretty much lived off his fame for holding the world record for 20 years and he is ruthless and snooty. The other guy is a family man who just wants to be the best at something and Donkey Kong just happens to be the one thing he might be the best at. It's rather intriguing to get inside glimpses of the key players in the real world of video game fanatics. It's is a nice, clean production and a really fascinating true story. Be sure to watch the end credits and also the Special Features to see how this story lives on today as I write this. Fun for adults of all ages and kids as well. Again, be sure to watch the end credits for the added sidebars that give more information on what happened after the film. ALSO, be sure to watch the Special Features: The Saga Continues. It's all interesting, must-see stuff - still happening!

A film that insists you at least crack a smile as it promotes the rivalry between a collosal bag of feminine hygiene product and an underdog with an extremely patient family. Anyone who is, or has any familiarity with "gamers" will enjoy watching as the movie toggles between laughing at and with them. One last thing, a warning: a little internet research could potentially unravel your feelings about the outcome, or not.

I thought with all the great reviews this movie would be a good pick but DH and I weren't that into it. It's not horrible, we just didn't find it as entertaining as others did I guess.

Ok, I rented this movie based on positive reviews and word of mouth. Now I'm a young guy and a hardcore gamer, but this movie bored the crap out of me. It is a full fledged nerdumentary. There is not an ounce of humor in it. Everything is presented in a disturbingly serious manner. The only humor I could take from it was watching a bunch of socially inept gamers in their 30s and 40s make Donkey Kong into a life or death situation. Every nerd stereotype there could possibly be is present in this film. It was like watching a Star Trek convention - you want to laugh, but in the end you just feel sorry for them. I was trying to talk my fiancee into watching this with me when I first rented it. Now I'm really glad I watched it without her or I would never have heard the end of it. This a movie for gamers from the early 80s that still think video games should be played in arcades. On a side note, I feel sorry for Steve Wiebe's kids.
