Read More Let me say that I consider myself a HUGE fan of the Indy series, but the Crystal Skull ended up being a painful disappointment to me. I felt that this film was completely void of any kind of Indy vibe or emotion. It felt less about ancient religious/mystic curses, adventure, and treasure hunting, and more like Close Encounters with a dash of The Incredibles. There are a couple of good action scenes early in the film, but in the end there are just too many characters running around from Point A, in order to set off Point B, move on to Point C, etc., that I never once in this film felt like anyone was in any real danger. I wished it would have been Indy and Mutt on a search to save Marion, with Kate Blanchett and the commies following, and NOTHING else. It was just too cluttered, the overall world felt "soft", and too "over the top" for me to enjoy. If I never see Shia LaBeouf in the trees with monkeys again, I'll die a happy man. Read More I love the Indiana Jones films, but this film falls prey to the same things that did in other sequels like Pirates 2 & 3 and Spidey 3. It's way over the top, too sappy, too silly, and filled with "name" actors in meaningless roles (see John Hurt, Ray Winstone, & Jim Broadbent). Harrison Ford is stiff, lacking most of the charm Ithat made Han Solo and Indiana Jones such great characters. None of the Russian baddies bring much to the table. Regrettably, they should have stopped this series after The Last Crusade.
Shia Laboeuf is almost always good, but he's not given a lot to work with here. Same for Cate Blanchett. No idea where they dug up Karen Allen, but they probably should have left her there.
At least The Dark Knight is still out there... Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More to start out with, the movie was pretty good in the beginning (minus the lack-luster acting by most of the cast - Harrison Ford did excellent of course). towards the end the plot becomes weird and a little unbelievable. in fact, the ending wasn't "the triumphant Indy" i was expecting. it's a movie you don't have to see in HD because Spielberg wanted the look of the film to seem old. all in all, i just wish that they would have spent a little more time developing this movie. Second, all that said, I was still disappointed in this film. While the movie lived up to some of the other Indy installments (I thought it was far better than Temple of Doom and about on par with Last Crusade), Indiana the character was not the same at all. Sometimes he came across like the old Indy, sometimes he was just a bumbling idiot -- sometimes it all worked, and sometimes it didn't. I definitely recommend the movie, but don't set your hopes too incredibly high, or you will certainly be disappointed like I was. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More A lot of people are really raggin' on this flick, and frankly their wrong. I mean if you know nothing of the legend of the thirteen crystal skulls (and some of the theories behind it), then the plot may seem out of place in the series. But Hey, is it really any less plausible than religious themed hocus pocus? It had everything one would expect from an Indiana Jones movie, The last few minutes of the movie was a bit much but much, but it was great fun and ended the series nicely. Its Speilberg folks, it was only a matter of time before aliens graced Indy, in fact I think he may be re-releasing Schindler's List with the new "the Nazi's are Aliens" ending!
