The movie is not amazing, but pure fun. Don't watch it with logic or reason, just enjoy it! The movie feels sort of 80's style in way. The cast, though sterotyped, perform very well and the design of the movie is classy yet creepy. There are some jump moments throughout, and the movie doesn't rely on blood, nudity, or profanity to become a good scary movie. Watch with friends! You'll love it! Read More I haven't seen the original -- so I have nothing to judge this against. However, that being said, I think this could be classified as a typical teen horror/slasher film. The basic premise of these teenagers going to prom is a rite of passage we've all gone through, and to pair that with the twisted mind of a killer -- well, it makes for an interesting film. Parts of this film were a little too cliche. There are a lot of hiding under bed moments, or opening the shower curtain and nothing is there moments. Besides the obvious predictability the film held my interest. Brittany Snow was definitely a standout. Definitely a film to watch if you're interested in the genre. THEY WERE SO ANNOYING!!! there were too many close ups and all i could pay attention to was the huge scar on Brittany Snow's face. after so many pop up scenes you kind of expect more so where's the scary in that? it could have been a good movie BUT IT WAS PROBABLY ONE OF THE WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!! I am a horror fan. This was more like a crime thriller. I've been more scared crossing the street on a Sunday morning. Very disappointed. Please, let people know before they waste their time or money or eyesite, or anything else. Horrible horror should have been the catagory for this title. They should have left this one in the past. It was a cheesy, predictable remake of an apparently good movie in the 80's. But I liked it, and I would assume anyone older than 18 or so would not. Its just way to predictable. Everyone who you think would die dies and the ending is assumed from the begining of the movie. I, again, really enjoyed it because it was jumpy but not too scary. It was more of an OH MY GOSH!!! type of movie, not a gross creepy type. Enjoy if you are 10-17!!! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||
