One of the most notorious slasher films of the 1980s returns to terrorize filmgoers with this blood-soaked remake that proves just how horrifying high school dances can truly be. Donna Keppel (Brittany Snow) has survived a terrible tragedy, but now the time has come to leave the past behind and celebrate her senior prom in style. When the big night finally arrives, Donna and her best friends prepare to enjoy their last big high-school blowout by living it up and partying till dawn. But while Donna is willing to look past her nightmares and into a brighter future, the man she thought she had escaped forever has returned for one last dance. An obsessed killer is on the loose, and he'll slay anyone who attempts to prevent him from reaching his one and only Donna. Who will survive to see graduation day, and what will Donna do when she's forced to confront her greatest fear? Scott Porter, Jessica Stroup, and Dana Davis co-star in the slasher remake that will have tuxedo-clad teens everywhere nervously looking over their shoulders as they file out onto the dance floor. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I think I am one of the few individuals that truly likes the majority of the "remakes" that Hollywood is churning out. I love most of the original films that these remakes are based off of, but these new films bring a sense of freshness and modern feel to the finished product. The Prom Night remake is only a remake in name and only. The new story is completely different from the original Jamie Lee Curtis film (which in my opinion was just marginally acceptable as a GOOD horror film). Of course being a PG-13 film, the death scenes are totally off screen or blurred, but that does not take away from the feel of the film. There is a true sense of doom and dread that runs through the film that works. I may be in the minority in my enjoyment of these "remakes" but at least I can accept them for what they are. Movies that want to entertain and thrill.
Eh, it's got an interesting story line and some cool stuff. But bottom line it was alright, not exactly awesome but not horrible either.I gave it 3 1/2 stars because it did have good acting and the plot was interesting. It's worth atleast one watch but not really one I'd watch all the time. I'd watch it every couple months.
i personally thought that this movie, was great. it was suspenseful and scary. Although, it was a little cheesy, i thought it had a good story line and i really like the movie.
Good movie. Hate that people are saying this is a remake. Totally different story line. Only similarities is that the killer is killing people on Prom night at the Prom. Get the original and see the difference.
the worst horror ever made!!! I have seen some bad ones but this one is really the worst. the acting sucked the story sucked more!!! it is very slow, the kills are poorly done. this one should have never been made!!!!
I would take the time to type something out so that you all would know how bad this movie is but I've already wasted two hours on watching it. I want my time back but should point out that I've seen movies much worse.
The formula for this movie is old and tired. Girl, bad guy, the bad guy kills people on the way to get to the girl. insert boring conversations and boring people, wrap it up like the normal bad guy after girl type movie....
prom night was good. not like horror scary but jumpy scary. if you dont like people dying dont watch. a little gory but definetly not as gory as Hot Fuzz. very good!!!
i saw this movie in the theaters it was really good it wasnt relly scary it was just moments where the killer jumped out of nowhere and it kinda shcoked you a little or mad you jump but everybody in the theaters was screamin
