I turned it off as soon as she says, "Let's just lie down". Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Nice adult movie. All of the characters were realistic and interesting with the exception of the ingenue. I don't think that's Lauren Ambrose's fault; it's just that some of her character's actions were so improbable that they took me out the movie a couple times. Frank Langella was superb. He's definitely on my radar as an actor now. Thoughtful characters, intelligent dialogue, top-drawer acting.WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

She can't act. And if she ever hopes to play a convincing role, she has to learn to tame those huge eyes that make her look like a ditzy 12-year-old. But she wasn't the only problem. Gosh, you'd expect independent filmmakers to have some fresh ideas. But instead we get the recycled, uninteresting (and unconvincing) story of a young girl who seduces an old man because she's so smitten with his art. Gimme a break. Really. Oh, and then a pointless subplot about two people who have a rocky relationship but can't stay away from each other. Original! And then all the nonsense is tied up with a pretty little ribbon at the end. How satisfying. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More It was hard to imagine a 25 year old, an aspiring writer going after her Master's Degree, getting romantically involved or infatuated with a senior citizen. This man looked to be old enough to be her grandpop, not her father. Granted, they had writing as a common thread, however it just seemed to me to be OFF THE WALL... meaning VERY UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! It made me laugh when I knew I should have felt some seriousness. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
