We'll see if my prediction is correct. I would say that this movie is close to ... Read More Love the music! This movie will no doubt win the Oscar for best song of "Falling Slowly". Today's date is 12-21-07. We'll see if my prediction is correct. I would say that this movie is close to a style of the Beatles "Hard Days Night" film. The camera work is handheld giving it a unique feeling of intimacy between the two main characters in this movie. You can tell that they are friends in real life as I discovered by watching the extra features. There are slight bits of humor that add to the realism. This would be a great film for those that enjoy people trying to make something of themselves style stories and the relationships that develop in the process. It's refreshing - without hype or excess. A rare gem - has captured the hearts of every major film reviewer as well (100% rating on rottentomatoes.com -doesn't get any better than that!) Do yourself a favor and do NOT miss this film. You'll fall in love the characters as well as their unforgetable music. Read More This was a movie that wasn't cram-packed with action or heavy themes. I enjoyed relaxing at home to watch a movie whose main purpose wasn't to pump up your adrenaline. The actors/musicians were believable and likeable, and the music was well integrated into the story-line (unlike many other musicals, where the characters are singing songs in unrealistic environments). It has a simple plot, but the music makes it a truly amazing film. The characters are very real, its almost like watching a doc. of someone's life story. The chemistry between the two main characters is very endearing. It makes you realize that everyone you meet has an affect on your life in some way. "Once" has now taken over that title. I really looked forward to this movie because of the excellent reviews. The acting was terrible, the songs were a joke, the plot could have been written by a fifth grader, and the filming was amateurish. My conclusion is that the movie is a fraud perpetrated on the public. A comparison would be a large rectangular plain white mat passed off as modern art.

No trials, or tribulations, the script is Weak and the plot is weaker.This is not the four star movie that is promised on the front of the box. It is a two star movie at best.
