Read More This is an eloquent look at how a family deals with the death of the matriarch. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a parent can probably relate to this sensitive, well acted and produced movie. There are profound moments that clench the sorrow of losing a loved one, but also funny moments. Even in times of dire stress, humor plays itself out. A well-rounded look at a sad situation. Sally Field's acting was great as always. I liked the way they had her talking on camera about her life before she was really sick with cancer. That made the movie more "real" and heartfelt for me. Losing a loved one this way isn't easy and the movie did a great job in showing all the emotions a person would feel. It didn't move me to tears however, almost but not quite. Keep in mind that was not a mega hit movie with a huge budget and glamour. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I do feel like they could have done alittle more with the cast that they had. There were definately parts of this movie that just seemed to drag on endlessly. But all in all I liked the movie. Her husband surprised me. He blamed the kids for taking over when he could have been more actively involved; it makes you wonder just how strongly he felt for his wife. There was very little humor in this movie. The story certainly depicted a family that had gone their own ways. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If you have known anyone in your life who has died a painful death this movie may possibly be the biggest insult you've ever endured.
According to the "review guidlines", I'm not allowed to include cliche's or profanity.
These guidelines severly limit my ability to express how much I disliked this movie.
Thankfully the movie didn't have to adhere to this guidline. If it did, there would be no movie.
Additionally, no profanity or honest opinion is allowed. It's a good thing, otherwise the reviews would have a rating similar to "Behind the Green Door", which would be way more entertaining than the movie itself.
Thank you for listening.
If you haven't gathered my opinion yet, let me summarize...... "What a piece of garbage". Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
