Most movie sequels cannot live up to the the original. I was hoping against hope that this would be one of those rare exceptions.
To my great relief, it was. It had all the action and comedic elements I expected after the first movie. In fact, this sequel may actually b better then the first movie! Hows that for rare?
About the only thing tat stopped me from giving this a full 5 start review was the Mt. Rushmore storyline. Of course we got o movies knowing full well we have to suspend disbelief for a little while, but that one particular elemet use was just one too many for me to take.
Overall, outstanding. I would, no, I DID go see it again!!

Read More Like most of the reviews say, if you liked the first one you will like this one. I thought the first one was a little far-fetched, and this one reaches just a little further. It is however very entertaining and provides good humor. If you can wait to see it out of the big screen I would suggest it as a rental. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Nicolas Cage and the rest of the returning cast pick right up where they left off. Full of action, adventure, puzzle solving, and treasure hunting this movie is tons of fun and a great film for the whole family. I loved the chase scenes and the theme of protecting your family's heritage is refreshing in today's "it's all about me" generation. I love the way the left the story open for a hopeful additional National Treasure sequel.... Can we get Ben Gates written into the new Indiana Jones film?? Enjoy the adventure! Read More For a movie that is supposed to based on historical facts this movie fails epically. From the view point of a Southerner the best part of the movie was the opening scene when Lincoln was shot and Booth got away... at least that was fact based.
The rest of the film was spent going out of the way to spew false Yankee propaganda which thanks to the Federalization of the Education system has become history, all be it false history and lies.
Lincoln was a tyrant and his unconstitutional Union Army that carried out his illegal War against the sovereign Confederate nation was even more ruthless. Hundreds of Thousands of Southern citizens of all colors were raped, beaten, and murdered by the Union Army and Lincoln was well aware of it.
This film is trash because it attempts to cover up Lincoln and the Union Army's actions. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Aztec's City Of Gold finally found in South Dakota?! Don't be ridiculous! Even a legend briefly told in a beginning say that is somewhere in a Central America...And how those wooden mechanisms where supposed to survive hundreds or even thousands of years UNDER WATER?!! And ice and snow?! S.Dakota is four season state! Aztecs never made that far! Know Your History!
I hate it when screenwriters assume that audience is SO-O-O stupid that they can easily feed us that BS!
P.S. As always, camera and actors doing a great job! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

If you liked the first National Treasure you should really like this installment of Jerry Bruckheimer's latest franchise. Both of these movies, but especially this one, epitomize the saying "it's about the journey, not the destination". We all know that Cage et al will end up finding the treasure. The intrigue (loosely stated) is the clues that lead them to said treasure. The movie follows the same formulaic plot line as the original, but I actually thought it was a better movie.
