I loved the first part, and like the second part. It was good but not as entertaining as part one. The story and the idea was good, I just felt like the delivery wasn't there. If you liked and ejoyed the first part then rent this film, yet if you didn't love the first film then you surely wont like this film either. Overall: C+

I saw this film before the last Indiana Jones movie and found it better.

This movie is so interesting and I loved how it peaked my children's interest in history. I do believe that this sequel was better than the first one

I am a big fan of the original National Treasure. Sure it's mainly Indiana Jones in modern times, but it was funny, fast paced and at least seemed plausible. The sequel, as is typical, doesn't stray too far from the original, although it certainly isn't fresh material any more. Riley is still the funniest character and the group finds a way to solve each impossible problem with just a bare minimum of thinking involved. The addition of Helen Mirren to the cast is welcome although Ed Harris is just plain annoying. There was a certain amount of innocence in the first film which is lacking in Book of Secrets now that everyone is famous, but in the end, it is still a fun watch.

Book of Secrets is a perfect family or holiday movie. It is so fun and exciting. The movie is jam packed with adrenaline and humor as the movie goes along. The scene stealers to me in this movie was the relationship with Jon Voight and Helen Mirren, which was an absolute treat. This was even better then the first in my opinion and just can't wait for the next installment.

2008.05.20 - What can I say? It's a sequel. If you LOVED the first one, then you'll probably like this one. If you only LIKED the first one, then you'll probably view this one as ho-hum.
