I thought this was a very good and thought provoking film. The extraneous artsy element may have been appreciated by some and not others. The skateboarding imagery will probably interest those who love that genre - generally the youth, I imagine. This boy really had something he needed to work out and I imagine many young people have been in his situation (hopefully without death as a result) but similar without being so severe. A basically good kid with nobody to turn to and so afraid to tell the truth. I really felt for him and kept hoping for him to go to the police and come clean.

I like artistic films. But the blatant attempt at looking artsy-fartsy with this film was so obvious. Whether it won awards or not, this was the most painful thing to try to watch. Spending literally minutes just watching this idiot kid drive to nowhere, walk down a hallway or stare off into space -- it's ridiculous, a waste of film and a waste of my time.

It is one of those movies that the first 45 minutes you are thinking about turning it off right before saying WTF. Then all of a sudden, things start to make sense and you realize the movie is a pure genius. It doesn't follow the normal format of most movies and is all over the place like a puzzle. Once the pieces fall into place and you see the whole picture, you will be wowed. This is a blockbuster exclusive and the only place you can get the movie. Worth a watch for the twisted mind :)
