The stories of each boy are richly presented through their interactions and conversations. It shows how we do make impressions on each other (positive & negative), no matter how insignificant we think we are and regardless of how we may drift apart. If you love nostalagia you're going to love this. An unlikely movie brought forward yet remaining in the past. Aside from what about the "death" involved; I kept going back and forth on the age factor and where I've seen these actors before. Then you wonder if you're losing it because the actors you're seeing are the real thing and you are going through a time warp. Read More When I first saw this movie in the theater many years ago, I was amazed by the performance of the then VERY young River Phoenix, and I predicted "this kid is going to be a star!" Well I finally got to watch it last night and it was simply amazing. The characters were amazing, each and every single one.. they all had their place. River Phoenix turned out to be a very heart-warming young boy with a head on his shoulders, very different from his brother. I was amazed at how you were brought into the lives of each of these characters. You got to know them, feel them and understand them. Definately a classic for years to come.
