Ira Sachs proved a really good movie can be made without all that stuff.
Probably wouldn't set well with young people. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Felt like a flash-back to the 50's when movies were light, amost tongue-in-cheek ,and innocent, even thought the plot could be called dark. At least it wasn't depressing or too real. May contain spoiler: Harry tells his best friend Richard that he has found love in his life, yet Richard's first thought is to see how he can steal her from him! Harry wants to kill his wife because he wants to leave her and he doesn't want her to be alone? That's a strange motive!
At one point Harry makes Pat realize that he is about to leave her, and Pat begins to go into a shock and can't stop crying! But then they go on as if that never happened! And why was Pat so distraught if she was in love with someone else anyway!
The killing of the Dog was too much! Only a cold blooded person with a real motive for murder would do something like that. And Harry wasn't one.
I also didn't understand the part were Kay finally invites Richard to spend the night and he refuses, even though he's been after her the whole time!
Finally, Kay breaks Harry's heart and Richard steals her from him, and yet they are still going to be friends! Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
