Read More movie was ok, could have been better. Meg Ryan was at times very sexy and other times just plain freaky looking and acting...like she was strung out on crack or something. They wanted this to be a great romantic comedy in the tradition of classics from the old hollywood days but it just never got there. I never could buy into the instant attraction of Banderas to Ryan, Hanks just wasn't funny or very likable in my opinion, a lot of the comedy wasn't very funny. Movie gets an extra star for making the female FBI agent a real woman, not a PC correct, feminist fantasy world super badass woman. All in all, the movie did manage to keep me watching...it wasn't BAD, it just could have been MUCH better. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! The acting is horrible and it's so miscast! Colin Hanks overacts and plays a stupid character, Meg Ryan also overacts and her lips are so distracting, and Antonio Banderas plays an idiot thief - again miscast! It's hard to believe this isn't a spoof because it's so bad. We yanked it after 30 minutes. I asked Blockbuster for my 30 minutes back.
I'm only writing to spare you. We have taste in movies, the people who wrote positive reviews on this movie must have been half asleep when they watched it.

Antonio Banderas is just one reason -- the rest are that it is a very fun movie. It was good to see Meg Ryan again, but her lips (that definitely do look like she has had collagen in them) drove me crazy most of the movie. I tried to ignore them. Although I loved to see Banderas and Ryan in this movie together, Hanks' acting was spot-on for his role. I really like how the movie itself was part romantic comedy, part caper comedy. The movie is absolutely terrible, with constant references to how hot Meg's charachter is. Even the FBI director is totally amazed by her beauty. Cheesy. We now know where Meg's career went.
