Mila Kunis, Gregory Smith, and Peter Stormare headline director Christian Duguay's tense psychological thriller about a state-of-the-art rehabilitation program for troubled teens that is in reality a penitentiary-style boot camp where adolescents are brutalized and brainwashed. Filmed in Fiji and penned by John Cox and Agatha Dominik, Straight Edge was the first film to utilize the southwest Pacific Ocean island country's five-year-old incentive program that was designed to create jobs while building a solid film production infrastructure. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I really enjoyed this movie. All the actors did a great job, espacially Mila Kunis, she did a great job on a dramatic role like this (saw this before Black Swan). The story is one that needs to be seen, its hard to believe that people really got away treating teens like this. The setting and the soundtrack of this film really compleates the movie. Worth seeing.
This was an amazing movie. I was sent to a school like this and this helps me know that I'm not the only one. There was never a dull moment and it held even my fiance's attention! Mila was sensational!
I loved this movie, especially to learn that it came from camps just like this are out there happening to kids. Wow! it is amazing what goes on in this world. I am going to buy this movie.
You should watch it and see for yourselves what I am talking about.
I had seen a preview of this movie while getting ready to watch another movie so I watched it with my wife we should've watched it with our troubled soon to be teen ager but didn't, overall I liked the movie, I wished it had went in a different direction like a real boot camp that actually turns teens headed down the wrong path around instead what those teens learned I think was that the people who are supposed to be in charge are more "messed' up than they are. The kids that left that island I think will return to they're "privileged" lives worst than before. We need a movie that says there are consequences for your actions.
Very good film that I only found because I was looking up Mila Kunis films. The acting was good, and the story kept me interested from the very beginning. The shots in Fiji looked great too. All around I would say this is a very good movie that will keep you interested all the way through.
Watched this movie with my 16 year old daughter and we both loved it. Amazing what these kids were put through something to really think about when you think about sending your kids away!
