I even watched it twice, and saw additional nuances I missed after seeing how it all comes together. A sweet romance. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

This film is far from it. The acting is great as Elisha Cuthbert continues to build up steam to possibly step up into a top money movie. The story is where some people will left hating it and others will enjoy something different. It is one of the few films where you love the character (Cuthbert) and hate her all at the same time. You also can't help but feel a bit depressed through much of it. The movie is strange in how depressing it is yet brings just enough good to make you feel like it is worth watching.
I wish people would not compare to a foreign version. Most haven't seen it (like me) and could care less except maybe a recommendation to see the foreign version. For reviews let it stand on its own merits, good or bad. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More While there will always be criticism of an American remake of a successful international movie, especially an Asian movie, I think they did a pretty good job with this one. While not everything translated, it was still a relatively enjoyable movie. At the least, it is a good way to show that the craziness of the girl in the original can be just as applicable in NYC. However, I am an Elisha Cuthbert fan and I just had to see her in another movie. This movie made me smile, laugh and darn near cry at the end. The plot is well developed, the acting is great. About the acting; the movie does a favor and actually focuses on our 2 main characters and does not add a whole lot in the way of a supporting cast. This means we get to focus on the two and really understand them. This movie has to be the iconic romantic movie of the last five years if not more. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? It's a movie with a solid plot, and get this only one kiss. No real romance driven story line but rather the material was well delivered, creative & inspiring. Yeah, if I have to watch a chick flick again this would be up top with how to lose a guy in 10 days. Jus' Sayin' ( misc) Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More This is your typical Hollywood remake that reenacts a dozen or so scenes from the superior original in unimaginative, inept ways in an effort to pander to the dim-wittedness and xenophobia of your typical American moviegoer who would rather slit their wrists than read subtitles. This is evident in the dialogue, which is way too cringeworthy for its own good. Every single line is opaque, thoughtless, and overly simplified to the point of sheer inanity. I found this very trying and ridiculously silly in theory - however I DID enjoy Jesse Bradford's character in the male lead and his performance was good even in this not-so-good story. Nope, didn't see the original, but not sure I even wanna..this was okay for TV viewing though, which is how I watched it, and again Jesse Bradford (for me) made it worth the watch.
