If only I'd checked the reviews before renting. I thought I was just renting an updated version of the movie. The description of this DVD describes the movie. But it isn't the movie. There is an A&E episode documenting the real von Trapp family, a rather stiff gathering of the actors who played the children in the film, etc. But the movie itself is not on this disc. What I don't understand is that there are two member review of this movie so far, both of which are only one star, yet the member rating under the movie is 4.5 stars. So I guess we can't trust the rating system either.

I lost interest in this movie before the intermission even came. It must be a generational issue, but man I was not impressed at all. The movie was insanely long and didn't have enough of a story plot to keep me interested. They just kept singing the same 4 or 5 songs in a variety of ways. BORING!
