Member Rating:
John Chang stars in Snake in the Monkey's Shadow as Liang, a martial arts student who impresses his teacher enough to have him instruct Liang in drunken boxing technique. After Liang dispatches a pair of thugs, two hitmen set out to murder him. Liang's friend Khoo teaches him the monkey fist technique in order to help him battle the deadly snake style used by the pair chasing him. The killers murder Khoo, but Liang finds inspiration at the funeral and develops a fighting system that will keep him alive and help him vanquish his foes. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

This was my very first marital arts movie and the one which hooked me to the martial arts category. Simple storyline with outstanding displays of drunken style, snake style, monkey style and finally drunken monkey style kung fu. If you are into martial arts movies, do not miss this one.

If you love drunken kung-fu, this movie is a must see. Unbelievable displays of the monkey and drunken style individual in addition to the only appearance ever of the drunken monkey style. Unbelievable!

I saw the movie when I was kid and wanted to watch it again. So, rented it here only to disappointed with the quality of the DVD. It is worse than VHF. We can 't even see the faces of the characters in the movie. Imagine it wathcing on a 50 inch LCD tv.
