Gene Kelly the great song and dance man, Donald O'Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. The best numbers were of course "Singing in the rain", by Gene Kelly, and Donald O'Connor's "Make them laugh". These were 2 classic moments in movie history. Don't sell Ms Reynolds short, she kept up with these 2 professional and outstand hoofers. She held her own against 2 giants in the industry. It seems so contrived and ridiculous, it just pulls you back out of the film. But I couldn't help but like this movie. The characters are so much fun, all of the dance numbers are first rate. I fully expected to be blown away by Gene Kelly, but the real winner here is Donald O'Connor... I had never seen the movie, but had heard about it since time immemorial, and now I am so glad that I've taken the plunge! Will not disappoint! WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes
