I would recommend watching it, but it will not be enjoyed by everyone. Something very different, comparing to what has been made in the last couple of years. Read More I've watched so many Michelle Yeoh's movies before and this is quite a different turn she took. It's the kind of movie that you tell yourself I'm giving this 30 minutes then you find yourself giving another 30 minutes then the next thing you know you want to know how this is gonna end. And what an ending! Not for somebody who can be affected by a movie especially when they go to sleep after watching it. It still makes you think (or talk about with the people you watched it with) the followin morning. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More If you keep in mind what trauma and isolation from society does to the psyche, the events in this movie should make sense to the very end. The acting, directing, cinematography and scenery were very good. However, given the sparseness of dialogue, the locations probably demanded more from the actors physically than what the script demanded of their acting skills. The movie is a lot like an independent film in that it's more of a collection of moments rather than a deep story. Fans of Michelle Yeoh should enjoy seeing her play a more casual character compared to her usual serious roles. The movie should definitely win an award for the most unexpected and bizarre ending. The audio defaults to Dolby Digital 5.1 and makes good use of surround sound. As for extras, there's a trailer for the movie and a "The Making of FAR NORTH" featurette (52:40 min). Definitely recommended. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More Based on an Inuit myth, FAR NORTH is a dark and tragic epic thriller set among desperate women in the frozen north surviving against all odds. The movie is bold and innovative, emotionally edgy and deeply imbued with a sense of location. Revenge, jealousy and courage are played out against the harsh beauty of the Arctic tundra. Read More This movie is slow, dialogue is practically non-existant, and when there is dialogue it's something along the lines of "comb my hair." I mean really, come on! The ending was uncalled for in a bad way. I gave this movie two stars because I thought the making of the movie in the special features was actually interesting. I get the fact that she had a rough life & all, but no reason for that bizarre ending. Not worth my time. My husband watched the making of the movie because he likes the scenery & maybe that is worth it. I didn't watch that part. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
