Trailer whas best part to me. Had to rewatch last 1/3 (as I had gone to sleep from boredom) hoping to be enlightened. Hate to sound so negative as my opinion is certainly biased my my higher expectations. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More i think this is one of those movies that you need to watch a few times to really enjoy it. i have only watched it once and while Ellen Page and Thomas Haden Church are both great in it, Quiad's character is incredibly unlikeable. and Parker's character falls a little flat. But i have hopes that when i watch it again i'll like it a little more because i think it has a good heart. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Ellen Page was the only actor trying to float this vial piece of snake dung. She's sharp, witty and can slice paper thin cheese with that double edge sword of a tongue. Other than that, Quaid (one of my favorite actors) was dead in this one, SJP spun her usual illkish ooooz (once a square peg, always a square peg) and the lazy brother (don't even care what his name is really) should retire and find that cool Walmart greeters job handing out carts! Take this one out of your Q and move on. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Ellen Page pretty much didn't branch out on any acting skills outside of her Juno role (a movie we hated). But she wasn't that bad in the movie. Thomas Haden Church was outstanding and the movie wouldn't have been the same without him or his character.
For those that can't make it through a movie without cops crashing into a strip club, you won't enjoy the movie. If you just want a mellow day movie with a story to tell, this is a good one. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

I expected Ellen Page to reach as an actress, but she played the same sarcastic youngster as she did in Juno. Maybe that's what the Director wanted.
I never knew where the characters were going nor what anyone's purpose was. Why was Sarah's character unhappy? Why'd she sleep with a ex Professor she despised? Was the niece coming on to her gay adopted uncle? Why did the son exist?
The best part was the end **SPOILER** when they showed the baby. Waste. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
